Mini-van smashes into east-end Toronto fitness centre

TORONTO – A medical episode caused a driver of a mini-van to smash the vehicle into the side of a fitness centre Friday morning.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. at the Variety Village sports facility on Danforth Rd. near and Kingston Rd.

The vehicle ended up embedded in the brick wall of the weight room. There were no reports of any injuries inside.

Police say a medical episode caused the driver to crash the mini-van and injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
