The Chief of Rocky View Fire Services says fires in rural areas often present challenges, but they were able to access a nearby water source to help fight Friday’s blaze.
“We’re lucky that this is a long panhandled driveway,” said Monty Armstrong. “We do have a water source nearby…we have more challenging areas in Rocky View County, but today we’re very fortunate.”
The outside of the house suffered significant fire damage, while the inside had smoke damage.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
