CALGARY – A man was rushed to hospital after a boating incident at Barrier Lake, west of Calgary on Tuesday night.
Emergency crews were called to the lake, near Canmore, at around 8:40 p.m.
Two people were reported missing: a woman last seen in a small paddle boat or canoe, and a man holding onto the side of it.
A search discovered both had made it to shore.
The woman was uninjured, but the man, believed to be in his 50s, was rushed by ambulance to Foothills Medical Centre in potentially life-threatening condition.
EMS couldn’t provide further details, including whether the people involved were wearing lifejackets.
