Fort Rouge shooting victim still in critical condition

WINNIPEG — A 21-year-old man remains in critical condition after being shot Tuesday in broad daylight. It happened around 2 pm on Nassau Street South.

Neighbours heard gunshots and say they saw a man running down the street.

Constable Rob Carver with the Winnipeg Police Service said he couldn’t confirm whether it was gang related, but said the victim was targeted.

Gage Alexander Hale, 21, was arrested a short distance away on Marion Street and Archibald when police spotted an SUV that witnesses identified at the shooting scene.

Hale is known to police and is charged with attempted murder and numerous firearms related offences.
