MONTREAL – Montreal rapper Annakin Slayd, known for his music videos celebrating the Montreal Canadiens and Expos, has produced a music video honouring Expos Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter, who died this week.
The video, called Kid, was published Friday on the artist’s YouTube page. The video features clips of Carter’s career, with Slayd singing about bringing a hand-made sign to one of Carter’s final games before he retired in 1992.

Slayd, whose real name is Andrew Farrar, produced Feels Like ’93 in 2010, a tribute to the Canadiens’ last Stanley Cup win, and followed up a few months later with Remember, honouring the Expos. Each has more than 100,000 views on YouTube.
His talents aren’t restricted to sports anthems. He also did Once More We Survive, a socially-minded collaboration with veteran Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck.
