A Prince George RCMP service dog is being credited for assisting RCMP with finding a missing toddler last week.
Mounties were called to the home on North Nechako Road on Tuesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. after the two-year-old went missing. The toddler was playing in an unfenced yard when the caregiver went into the house to attend to another child. When the caregiver returned moments later, the child was gone.

Multiples officers were called to the scene along with police dog Dero.
Within minutes Dero found the child in a wooded area about 80 metres behind the home. RCMP say the toddler was unharmed and was happily playing in the woods.
