Lasalle residents targeted

“There have been a couple of thefts in the Lasalle borough at night hours between at 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. in the morning,” said Laurent Gingras with Montreal police.

One of the incidents was alleged to have been at gunpoint.

Wild parsnip causes burns to Hudson teen

“The first night I got them, I wasn’t very good at sleeping,” said 14-year-old Reese Hitterman.

Hitterman came into contact with wild parsnip, an invasive plant that can be harmful to human health during a dirt bike excursion near Brockville, Ontario.

Pointe-Claire starts composting

“People are thrilled that we’re really investing in our composting and recycling because they believe in that,” said Kelly Thorstad-Cullen, city councilor for District 3.

On Wednesday, the City of Pointe-Claire distributed 2,500 new compost bins in an effort to promote alternative methods of waste management.
