Parole denied for man considered to be a sexual sadist

MONTREAL – The parole board has denied parole to a Montreal man who is considered a sexual sadist.

It’s a rare move, but the board said that surveillance would not be enough to keep the public safe from Robert Laramée, who dropped out of treatment programs in prison.

He was once a prime suspect in the disappearance of 10-year-old Jolène Riendeau, but he was never charged.
