Police dive team back at three retention ponds in Krull case

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police were back at three retention ponds Thursday in the search for Thelma Krull.

Officers with the dive team and river patrol were doing shoreline searches on foot in hopes of finding something that could lead to the missing grandmother.

The 57-year-old disappeared on July 11 after leaving her home in Harbourview South for a walk.

Despite massive search efforts, police have yet to find out what happened to the woman and have admitted investigators are “grasping at straws.”

A police spokesperson stressed investigators are not acting on any specific tips.

On Wednesday the dive team went into retention ponds in Kilcona Park, one off Gateway Road and another near the Concordia Overpass.

The police spokesperson said the shores of the same ponds will be searched Thursday.
