TORONTO — Two of the three most-viewed trailers online last week were for movies made in Canada.
Suicide Squad, currently in production in Toronto, topped the list with 50.9 million views in its first week. Alberta-shot The Revenant ranked No. 3 with 11.8 million views.
The statistics are compiled by media monitoring company Zefr and posted by The Hollywood Reporter.
Warner Bros. released the Suicide Squad clips on July 13 after sharing them with fans at a presentation days earlier at San Diego Comic-Con.
The video topped the first official trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which racked up 19.8 million views in the same period.
The Revenant teaser trailer, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was posted on July 17.
