2 inmates scale fence at Saskatoon Correctional Centre

SASKATOON – Police were called to an escape at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre just before 2 p.m. Sunday. The two male inmates, ages 20 and 23, escaped by scaling a fence at the facility.

After a short foot pursuit, the two escapees were arrested behind a business in the North Industrial area. Saskatoon police and their plane assisted with the apprehension.

One of the inmates suffered injuries by scaling the fence and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Both men are now at the police detention centre and scheduled to appear in court Monday to face charges of escaping lawful custody.
