Weather update: Thursday, July 16, 2015 4pm
An upper ridge is building in, and you can expect sunny and warm conditions this weekend.
As for Friday, the Okanagan will see mainly sunny conditions. However in the Columbia and Shuswap areas, Friday will be partly cloudy with a small shower risk because bands of clouds will wrap around the low that is tracking east into the prairies, and spill back into parts of BC.
Check out the photo below that was taken today from our viewer, Pamela Frink. You know it’s summertime in the Okanagan when Kalamalka Lake looks so vibrant!

In case you were wondering why this happens it is because Kalamalka is a marl lake. Dissolved limestone crystallizes when the lake warms in the summer, giving the lake its beautiful colour.
Friday’s daytime high range: 23 to 29C
More details coming up at 5, 6:30 and 11pm!
