WINNIPEG – A lane of Carlton Street will be closed for three weeks to allow repairs to the skywalk between the Delta Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
The west curb lane of Carlton Street between St. Mary Avenue and York Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. July 20 until 5 p.m. Aug. 7, the City of Winnipeg said in a news release.
The skywalk was closed April 9 to assess the connection to the convention centre and has stayed closed since.

Repairs to the skywalk require a temporary support system be installed. The closure will allow that shoring work to be done.
The final design and construction of a permanent repair will be done after the temporary shoring is complete, the news release said.
