UPDATE: RCMP say the driver, a 36-year-old Penticton woman, was suspected of drunk driving. Her vehicle is now impounded.

She suffered minor injuries.

PENTICTON — Emergency crews dived into action early Thursday morning after a driver went off road, plunging into the Penticton River Channel.

Witnesses say everyone in the vehicle was able to escape.

No word if speed or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
