Wednesday at Cosmo Civic Centre, some of the cast invited kids who are involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon to come out and aspire to be a superhero.

“It was fun, the hardest part about it was trying to get through the human part,” said Nevaeh, one of the participants who was breathless.

The “Super Hero Training Challenge” brought kids together with their mentors, a cast member from the show and a local media personality to complete an obstacle course.

Kagan Kneen, a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, said the course is harder than it seems.

“It was definitely more challenging than I’d expected. I’ve never been on a bouncy castle so stepping on, I definitely sunk down but it was a lot of fun. The skip rope with the Wolverine claw was definitely a challenge but it was a lot of fun.”

After running through the inflatable obstacles, smashing boxes with Hulk hands and tossing Capitan America’s shield, the times were calculated to determine a winner.

All of the participants received Marvel-themed gift bags, but the winner of the training challenge won a chance to walk on stage with the Hulk at the show.

The cast works with kids in almost every community they visit on tour.

“I’ve done quite a few Big Brothers and Big Sisters stuff in a lot of the different cities I’ve done. It’s always great to work with the children especially when they look up to you being when you portray certain characters in a show that they’re really excited to see,”  Stated Brandy Valdez, a cast member from Texas.

Marvel Universe LIVE! will be at SaskTel Center from Thursday to Sunday.
