HALIFAX – Halifax Water says it has reached a tentative agreement that could end a dispute with more than 300 of its workers.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees says it is trying to find a venue for a ratification meeting before it finalizes a time for its members to vote on the proposed deal.

Halifax Water says the tentative agreement with the union representing the workers came after a pension proposal containing suggestions from both sides.
Changes to employee pensions have been a main issue in the almost eight-week-long dispute.
Employees, including 230 outside and 105 inside workers, set up picket lines on May 19, although Halifax Water had already locked them out.
