Shots fired at COBS Bread in Surrey

RCMP are investigating a shooting outside a bakery in Surrey early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the 18800-block of Fraser Highway just after 2:00 a.m. Police didn’t find any victims or suspects, but discovered bullet holes in the window of COBS Bread. Shell casings were also found at the scene.

One employee was inside the bakery when shots rang out. She told Global News that she heard a loud noise, but didn’t realize shots had been fired.

COBS Bread staff are working to clean the area. The owner tells Global News they plan to be open for business Sunday morning.

Investigators say the incident appears to be a random act, and not connected to recent gang-related shootings in Surrey.
