CALGARY – A high risk offender being monitored by Calgary police made a brief court appearance on Thursday.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kevin Ronald Brooks was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet as he spoke.
Police issued a warning in June when he was released from prison, after serving seven years for manslaughter.

The High Risk Offender Program is monitoring Brooks, as he has a long history of violent crime.
Brooks is challenging a condition that would force him to take counselling.
