TORONTO – Toronto transit users can now purchase single day passes and group passes by using the TTCconnect app on smartphones.

The launch of the e-tickets come just two days before the opening of the Pan Am Games.

Customers can purchase day passes for use any time or a group pass that can be used on weekends and holidays.

However, group passes will be permitted on weekdays throughout the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.

Riders can pre-purchase passes, which must be activated before use. Once activated, day passes and group passes are valid from the date activated until 5:30 a.m. the next day.

“The TTCconnect app is just one of the many technological modernization initiatives the TTC is undertaking to improve service and convenience for its riders,” said TTC Chair Josh Colle in a media release.
