WATCH: A number of people are out of their homes after an aggressive fire tore through an apartment complex in Burnaby.

A number of people are out of their homes after an aggressive fire tore through an apartment complex in Burnaby Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. at a three-storey walk-up in the 3900-block of Linwood St. near Curle Ave. Several suites on the top floor were gutted.

Every fire station in Burnaby was in attendance, tackling the blaze on the ground and from above.

WATCH: A huge fire broke out in a Burnaby apartment complex this afternoon. Catherine Urquhart reports.

Deputy Chief Joe Robertson said the blaze was called in by a passerby who saw flames shoot out a window.

Two residents suffered minor smoke inhalation and a firefighter was taken away after twisting his ankle.
