Driver dies in northern Alberta collision

EDMONTON – A man is dead following a collision in northwestern Alberta.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, emergency responders were called to a two vehicle crash west of Hythe, which is 58 kilometres west of Grande Prairie.

The collision involved a car and a semi truck. When police arrived on scene, the only person in the car was pronounced deceased.

Police said the victim, a 26-year-old Valleyview man, was traveling eastbound and crossed the centre line colliding with a west bound semi truck.

The name of the man hasn’t been released.
