Area residents called 9-1-1 as the flames destroyed a 50 foot section of the hedge. Some nearby wooden fences were also damaged.
Witness Austin Fergason says neighbours report hearing fireworks going off shortly before the fire started.
Kelowna firefighters say the cause is suspicious.
The file has been turned over to the RCMP.
