Boy, 13, dies playing soccer in Drayton on Canada Day

DRAYTON, Ont. – A 13-year-old boy has died while playing soccer northwest of Guelph, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say they received a call shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday for a teenager in medical distress in Drayton, Ont.

They say people at the soccer field gave the boy CPR until first responders arrived.

The teen was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say they are investigating the death along with help from the coroner.
