EDMONTON — A semi-truck driver caused a traffic headache in Edmonton’s core Tuesday after crashing into the street car overpass at the High Level Bridge.

The driver misjudged the semi’s ability to get through the west entrance just north of the bridge despite a clearance sign which reads 3.2 metres.

Motorists were still able to access the bridge southbound on 109th Street, but police were advising drivers to take alternate routes.

At 1:48 p.m., police said the west entrance had been reopened.

Social media was quick to react to the driver’s error.
