Human remains found on South Saskatchewan River

SASKATOON – Saskatoon RCMP say human remains were found in a sandbar on the South Saskatchewan River Saturday afternoon. A body was reported to authorities near Victor Road in the rural municipality of Corman Park.

Members of the forensic identification section assisted in recovering the body south of Saskatoon Saturday evening.

An autopsy is expected to take place Tuesday to attempt to identify the victim using dental records.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

RCMP say additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
