Montreal Alouettes welcome back Michael Sam

MONTREAL – Two weeks after Michael Sam left training camp for personal reasons, rumours started circulating on Thursday that Sam was back from his hometown of Galveston, Texas.

Sam himself confirmed the reports in a tweet on Saturday.

Sam abruptly left the Alouettes’ training camp only three weeks after inking a two-year deal with the CFL team.

In a statement issued by the Als, Sam left early to “return home for personal reasons.”

No other details were offered about his absence.

The team played its first game of the season without Sam, but are welcoming him back into the fold.
