CALGARY – EMS were called to the scene of a vehicle rollover on Highway 566, east of Symons Valley Road around 1:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
When they arrived, paramedics found one vehicle involved in a rollover that suffered extensive damage and no other vehicles were involved.
The 70 year old man from Edmonton and lone occupant of the vehicle was trapped and was suffering from a severe arm injury.

Rocky View Fire from Balzac and Crossfield responded and had to use the jaws of life to reach the male.
Investigators say that the vehicle was traveling westbound on 566 and struck a guard rail just prior to the Symon Valley Road (Secondary Highway 772).
The vehicle traveled along the guard rail for a short distance before flipping over the rail and landing on its roof.
Paramedics attended to his injuries while he was being extricated, then STARS Air Ambulance transported him to Foothills Hospital with a serious arm injury.
He is in non life-threatening condition.
EMS has no information on what caused the rollover but both speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in this collision.
RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene and the highway was shut down for approximately 5 hours. The highway has since reopened around 7:00 PM.
