REGINA – A Prince Albert man has been found guilty of three separate wildlife-related charges, according to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment. Armand Nadeau was fined a total of $9,400 for illegally hunting and marketing fish.

The charges stem from calls made to the ministry’s Turn In Poachers (TIP) line in September 2014. Conservation officers investigated and charged Nadeau for unlawfully hunting moose in the Jansen area and a second offence of unlawfully hunting elk.

The court handed Nadeau a three-year hunting suspension in addition to the fines after taking three previous wildlife-related convictions into consideration.

“Our laws are designed to provide effective management of wildlife and fish populations to ensure hunting and angling opportunities are available now and in the future,” said Ken Aube, the ministry’s compliance and enforcement director.
