MONCTON, N.B. – A government-appointed task force that has spent almost a year examining New Brunswick’s exotic animal laws and regulations will release its report Tuesday.
The task force was established last July in response to the August 2013 deaths of two boys who were asphyxiated by an African rock python in Campbellton.
Four-year-old Noah Barthe and his six-year-old brother Connor were killed after the huge snake escaped from its enclosure inside an apartment where the boys were staying for a sleepover.
African rock pythons are not permitted in New Brunswick.
The task force, led by Bruce Dougan, manager of Moncton’s Magnetic Hill Zoo, will release its report in Moncton.
