WINNIPEG – A protest has closed the Trans-Canada Highway at the Manitoba-Ontario border, Ontario Provincial Police say.

Aboriginal protesters had warned media that they planned to protest at the border with the blockade when an RCMP report into missing and murdered aboriginal women was released Friday.

The OPP said in a news release that police are working with protesters to find a safe, peaceful way to demonstrate while minimizing the impact on drivers.
