SASKATOON – More upgrades have been announced for Blackstrap provincial park. The province announced Thursday another half-a-million dollars will be invested in the park south of Saskatoon.

The money will be used for a new beach service centre in order to provide safe and accessible public washroom and shower facilities. The current building is over 45-years-old and has no shower or accessible washrooms.

“A large number of people visit this park to take advantage of its fantastic day use facilities,” stated Mark Docherty, minister of parks, culture and sport.

“This project will greatly enhance those facilities and make Blackstrap an even more enjoyable place to visit.”

Work on the new centre is scheduled to start immediately and is slated for opening in the summer of 2016.
