He has already been released and re-arrested twice, but in just a few months, the man who dragged a Maple Ridge gas attendant to his death will be released again.
On May 1st Darnell Pratt will walk out of prison a free man.

Pratt was convicted of manslaughter in 2006, and given a six year sentence for his role in the death of Grant De Patie. The gas station attendant was dragged more than seven-kilometres under a stolen car while trying to stop Pratt from stealing 12 dollars worth of gas.
Pratt was first released in 2010, but was sent back to jail just days later after violating his parole conditions. And last November he was arrested again, after walking away from his halfway house in Victoria.
By law most federal inmates are released after serving two-thirds of their sentence.
