TORONTO — Stage veteran Lisa Horner was honoured Tuesday night as the first actor to perform in all four Mirvish theatres.
The Montreal native, currently in the cast of Kinky Boots at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, previously appeared in The Wizard of Oz at the Ed Mirvish Theatre, Les Miserables at the Princess of Wales Theatre and My Mother’s Jewish Lesbian Wiccan Wedding at the Panasonic Theatre.

To mark the distinction, Horner was presented with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne backstage at the Royal Alex.
A familiar face on the Canadian theatre scene — including roles at the Shaw Festival, Stratford Festival and CanStage — Horner is perhaps best known as the “start the car!” woman in an IKEA commercial. She won a Dora award in 2013 for her role in The Wizard of Oz.
Horner also appeared in episodes of TV series Little Mosque on the Prairie, Wind at My Back and Road to Avonlea.
Kinky Boots runs at the Royal Alexandra Theatre until Sept. 27.
