Eskimos make seven cuts

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Eskimos announced the release of seven players Sunday afternoon.

The most surprising move is the release of safety Corbin Sharun.

Sharun, an Edmonton-born player, has been with the team since he was drafted by the Eskimos in 2010. He racked up 77 special teams tackles in his time with the green and gold. Sharun played his junior football with the Edmonton Wildcats.

Receiver Etauj Allen was also released. Allen fumbled the ball twice in the second quarter of last night’s pre-season game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, before running in a nine-yard touchdown.

The Eskimos now have 74 players remaining at camp.
