TORONTO – What often seems like a marathon of road closures begins this weekend.

The Honda Indy Toronto is this weekend, but the road closures start Wednesday at noon. The southbound lanes of Strachan Ave. will be closed from Fleet St. to Lake Shore Blvd. W.

Later Wednesday evening, a portion of Lake Shore Blvd. W. running from Strachan Ave. to British Columbia Dr. will also be closed.

The closures will last all the way through the weekend.

The roads will reopen Sunday night at 11pm.

TTC and GO Transit will increase service to Exhibition Place during the Honda Indy Toronto.

Toronto Police are warning motorists to steer clear of the race area and to take public transportation.
