Man injured during robbery of Arran, Sask. hotel

ARRAN, Sask. – Two men and a woman have been charged after a hotel was robbed in a Saskatchewan community. The armed robbery happened in Arran last Friday.

Mounties say the culprits, at least one who had a firearm, entered the hotel bar late in the afternoon and took cash, cases of beer and bottles of liquor.

During the robbery, one person was injured after being struck in the head with the firearm.

The suspects then took off in a vehicle.

It was located by Mounties a short time later and a chase ensued. It ended just north of Norquay when the suspects ditched the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but instead were captured.

Richard Bighead, 22, is facing a number of charges including robbery, impaired driving, flight from police, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. He is also facing several weapons related offences.

Rocky Bighead, 20, is facing charges that include robbery, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of stolen property and several weapons related offences.

Kendra Thomas, 18, is facing robbery and weapon charges.

All three appeared in Yorkton provincial court Monday morning.

A third man has been identified and is under investigation.
