Record temperatures in the Okanagan

Monday proved to be a record breaking day for temperatures in the Okanagan.

According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Lisa Coldwells, the record temperature in Kelowna was previously set in 1948 at 32.8 degrees Celsius and at 2:20 p.m. on Monday it was 34 degrees, setting a new record.

As for Penticton, the previous record was 31.7 degrees Celsius in 1926, a new record set on Monday afternoon with temperatures reaching 35 degrees.

In Vernon, the record was 31.1 degrees Celsius in 1908 and Monday that record was also broken with temperatures reaching 32 degrees.
