Winnipeg –  A severe Thunderstorm warning has ended in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

Environment Canada was tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing dime to ping-pong ball size hail and heavy rain in the Winnipeg area Sunday afternoon.

Environment Canada said Sunday “A rapidly developing thunderstorm on the north side of Winnipeg is moving southward and has already produced nickel to golf ball sized hail”.

Areas in the warning included :

  • R.M. of Ritchot including St. Adolphe and Ste. Agathe
  • City of Winnipeg
  • R.M. of Tache including Lorette Ste-Geneviève and Landmar
  • R.M. of Springfield including Oakbank Anola and Birds Hill Prov. Park
