Florida man arrested after dancing to Hall & Oates on sheriff’s SUV to stave off ‘vampires’

A Florida man says he danced along to Hall and Oates and Supertramp on top of a Sheriff’s patrol car and ripped the windshield wipers off because he was trying to protect neighbouring children from vampires, according to a police report.

A video of his arrest was uploaded to YouTube by the sheriff’s department on Thursday and shows 44-year-old Christian Radecki pulling into a driveway and bumping the sheriff’s vehicle.

Radecki, a registered sex offender, then gets out of the car, climbs on top of the white SUV and begins dancing as ‘Rich Girl’ by Hall and Oates plays from his car. He pauses briefly after the song ends and begins again when the next song, ‘Goodbye Stranger’ by Supertramp plays.

After nearly five minutes, Radecki walks to the hood of the SUV where he rips off the windshield wipers and throws them towards the road.

According to WPTV, Radecki walked to a neighbour’s yard where he took an American flag. He can be seen in the video walking across the yard for nearly two minutes before he’s confronted by police.

The video ends as Radecki is led out of view and into a nearby cruiser.

According to WPTV, Radecki told police that a “woman with fangs” came to his door and threatened a human sacrifice involving vampires would happen soon.

“Therefore, Radecki made the conscious decision to get the Sheriff of Nottingham to help him stop the slaughter of small children,” the report said, according to WPTV.

WPTV also reported that Radecki said he had not consumed any drugs or alcohol, had not been diagnosed with any mental health conditions and was not taking any prescription medicine.

Radecki was arrested and taken to the Lee County Justice Center after a medical check stated he was in good health.
