It’s not something you see often in Hollywood-the “damsel in distress” played by a male, and the “superhero” played by a female. But that’s exactly what two Toronto film makers are doing, casting women in traditional male roles… the hard hitting, gun slinging, beer swilling kind.
Ashleigh Harrington and Jeff Hammond created a web series a little over a year ago that features re-makes of scenes from popular Hollywood films… except they have men and women trading places. Their latest project features a scene from the first Twilight vampire series, trading the sexy male vampires, for females. Watch 16×9 this Saturday for a look inside a world where Hollywood stereotypes are a thing of the past.
