EDMONTON – Two people were sent to hospital Tuesday morning after a collision in east Edmonton.

Shortly before 8:11 a.m., a truck crashed into a power pole on the off ramp to 50 Street from Sherwood Park Freeway.

There were three people in the truck: one man and two women.

Police said the male driver suffered a medical episode but it’s not clear if that was a factor in the crash or if it happened after.

The two women were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sherwood Park Freeway eastbound to 50 Street was shut down for a portion of Tuesday morning.
