UPDATE: 21-year-old charged with 2nd degree murder in Langley homicide

UPDATE: David Christopher Van Den, 21, has been charged with second degree murder. The victim, a well-known Langley homeless man, has been identified by IHIT as 37-year-old Wells Tony Gallagher. IHIT media relations officer Sgt. Stephanie Ashton says they were able to identify the victim and suspect due to the help of the community and multiple witnesses who came forward.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is looking into a murder in Langley Monday night.

RCMP say a fight broke out around 7:00 p.m. at Baselines Pub in the 20300-block of Fraser Highway.

One man was stabbed and died of his injuries.

Police have arrested a suspect and he has been taken into custody.

It is unclear at this time whether the stabbing took place inside or outside the pub.

IHIT was called to the scene and will be taking over the investigation.

Police say the area will be closed for several hours following the incident.
