KELOWNA – RCMP have made two arrests after a man brandished a gun at a Kelowna eatery Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at Swankies Hot Dog restaurant in the Rutland neighbourhood just before 12:30.
The man was gone when officers arrived.
They set up containment in the area and brought in a police service dog in an unsuccessfull search for a track.
Four nearby schools were locked down for a short time as a precaution.
RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan says witness statements and several leads were obtained at the scene.
Later in the afternoon a man and woman, both aged 33 and of no fixed addresses, were taken into custody.
The woman was later released without charges.
However, Duncan says the man remains in custody facing potential charges of uttering threats, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
