A 16-year-old boy has been charged in relation to several ‘swatting’ incidents, though police haven’t specified which ones.
OPP said the teen was arrested Tuesday in New Tecumseth, an area south of Barrie. He faces four charges, including public mischief.
The teens name has not been released.
Swatting has been making headlines recently; on Sunday an innocent family’s home was raided in Richmond Hill after police received a call that a gunman was in the house.
On Tuesday a Brampton school was in lockdown mode, and multiple others nearby in hold and secures for hours after another hoax call.
