MONTREAL -Montreal city council has approved a resolution permitting skateboarders on its bicycle paths.
Council adopted the resolution just one week after Sterling Downey, city councillor for Projet Montreal in Verdun tabled a motion to legalize skateboarding on Montreal bike paths.

Monday night, Downey tweeted that city council had adopted the motion unanimously.

The new resolution recognizes that skateboards are a form of active transportation like cycling and walking.
