Man covers himself in over 100 kilos worth of bees to set new world record

A Chinese man set a new world record on Monday in Tai’an City of east China’s Shandong Province by covering himself with 109.05 kilograms of crawling bees.

The man, Gao Bingguo, 55-year old, has been a beekeeper for over 30 years.

Gao started the challenge in the early morning, with other beekeepers helping pour large balls of bees from hundreds of beehives to his body.

In order to attract more bees, he attached a dozen queen bees to his body.

In an hour, numerous bees weighing 109.05 kilograms covered him, breaking the 83.5 kilogram record set by another Chinesebeekeeper Zhang Wei from northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.

“After we checked and searched database, and witnessed it at scene, we announce, sir Gao Bingguo successfully breaks the record,” announced Luo Xing, a judge of the Carrying The Flag World Records.
