REGINA – The Cathedral Village Arts Festival, which ended on Saturday, was a record-breaking success.
With warm weather all week, attendance was high at all events.
The organizers estimate that the lowest attendance came on Tuesday at around 500 people. Saturday’s street fair, though, with its 386 vendors, attracted over 50,000 people.
“For the street fair, the expansion we thought would prevent congestion, but it was congested anyways,” said Bernadette Wagner, the chair of the Cathedral Village Arts Festival.
“We think as many as 55,000 to 60,000 were on the street on Saturday,” she said.
2016 will mark the 25th anniversary of the festival and planning is already underway.
