CALGARY – Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi serenaded city councillors with an upbeat rendition of “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen on Monday.
He sang the song while wearing an Anaheim Ducks jersey, after losing a bet with Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait during the Calgary Flames‘ playoff run.
“I believe that if one is going to make a bet, then losing that bet should hurt a little,” said Nenshi. “And as many of you know, I am not scared of anything… except one thing, and that of course is singing in public.”
The mayor wasn’t alone when he belted out the catchy tune. He was joined by the Calgary Children’s Choir, Calgary Stampede Showband, Cowtown Opera Company, Revv52, ONCUE, beatboxer James “Peterpot” McInnis and Calgary-based a cappella group The Heebee-jeebees.

The Ducks eliminated the Flames with a 3-2 win in Game 5 earlier this month.
Last month, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson read a poem written by Nenshi during a council meeting as part of a playoff bet the two had made during the Flames’ playoff series against the Canucks.
