Armed man in Saskatoon house surrenders to police

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police received a call early Sunday morning about a man with a firearm in the Confederation Park neighborhood. The caller reported a distraught individual at a house on Dominion Crescent at 2:30 a.m.

Officers attended the scene and cordoned off the area. The police’s tactical support unit and crisis negotiators were also called in.

Police say the 35-year-old man eventually came out of the house and surrendered.

Several firearms were confiscated and no shots were fired.

The man is in custody and firearm-related charges are pending. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
