CALGARY – Mayor Naheed Nenshi admitted Game 1 in the Calgary Flames’ second round of the NHL playoffs against the Anaheim Ducks didn’t go as planned with a 6-1 loss, but he’s still betting on the home team.

“Similar to my bet with Mayor Robertson of Vancouver, Mayor Tait and I have agreed to wear the winning city’s jersey in council, as well as make a donation to a local charity in the winning city,” wrote Mayor Nenshi. “But, as it is round two, we’ve had to raise the stakes.”
The new twist is that the losing city’s mayor will sing a song at city council chosen by the winning city’s mayor. Nenshi chose “Alberta Bound” by Paul Brandt.
“In the very unlikely event that the Flames lose the series, Mayor Tait has chosen “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen for me to sing.”
The Flames next face the Ducks on Sunday at 8 p.m. MT.
